General

This is where you can find basic settings to enable game source capture, thumbnail previews between scenes, and select the format for your screenshots.

General Settings

Enable GPU priority
Gives XSplit Broadcaster's GPU processes higher priority when it comes to sharing the load with other processes. Requires administrator mode.

When trying to stream or record while playing GPU-intensive processes like games, this may help preserve XSplit Broadcaster's performance.

Enable game source
Enables capturing DirectX, Vulkan, and OpenGL games or applications.

Enable DX12 game capture:
Enables capturing of DirectX 12 games or applications.
(ex. Forza Horizon 5, Resident Evil Village, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves)

Enable Vulkan game capture:
Enables capturing of Vulkan games or applications.
(ex. Doom 2016, Doom Eternal, Wolfenstein II)

The game or application may need to be restarted for game capture options to take effect.

Hide XSplit Broadcaster from display capture
Prevents XSplit Broadcaster from capturing itself when using a Desktop capture source. This will also hide XSplit Broadcaster from other applications that use a display capture method.

Hide top control bar
Hides the top control bar which has the Stream, Record, and Screenshot buttons.

Enable In-game HUD
Enables the In-game HUD overlay when using Game Capture.
Click here to learn more about the In-game HUD.

Copy link to clipboard when starting a broadcast
Automatically copies a link to stream to the Windows clipboard when you start a broadcast on certain platforms.

Hide viewer count in stream status
Hides the display of the viewer count on the status bar when broadcasting on certain platforms.

Thumbnail Preview
Provides options for displaying a scene preview when you hover on a scene button. Uses additional graphics resources when enabled.

Screenshot capture
Select between JPEG or BMP image formats for your screenshots. JPEGs will be in smaller file sizes but are compressed so image quality may be lower while BMPs are raw, full quality images but are significantly larger in file size.

Log system information
Enable logging of system information for troubleshooting with XSplit Technical Support.

Audio

The Audio tab is where you can set which devices XSplit Broadcaster capture audio, set audio capture delay and volume control range as well as enable features such as audio preview and microphone mono mix.

Audio Settings - System Devices

Audio Preview
Choose an audio playback device to monitor the final audio output from the presentation.

System Sound
Choose an audio playback device that XSplit Broadcaster will capture audio from.

Delay
Enable and set a delay from which XSplit Broadcaster captures audio from the above device.

Volume Range (%)
Allows you to increase the range you can set the System Sound volume up to a maximum of 300%.

Microphone
Choose an audio recording device that XSplit Broadcaster will capture audio from.

Delay
Enable and set a delay from which XSplit Broadcaster captures audio from the above device.

Microphone mono mix
Sets how audio from a mono microphone source will be distributed to the left and right audio channels.

Audio Mixing Sample Rate
Allows you to manually select the sampling rate of your final audio output. Useful for those that use a specific sampling rate for their recordings or output sources or matching the sampling rate of legacy audio devices that cannot accommodate 48KHz.

Hotkeys

This is where you can set keyboard shortcuts to various XSplit Broadcaster actions and their behavior.

XBC Settings > Hotkeys overview

To assign a hotkey, select an action then check and select your desired key combination below.

You can also double-click an action and press your desired key combination.

Shift+G hotkey set to trigger switching to Scene 1

Setting a hotkey to Push to Talk will automatically mute your mic until the hotkey is pressed. You will need to remove the Push to Talk hotkey to disable this.

You can remove a hotkey binding by clicking X beside it.

Hotkey Options

Select hotkey mode

Basic: Allows hotkeys to be assigned from your Windows keyboard only and requires combinations with modifier(s).

Advanced: Allows hotkeys to be assigned without modifiers and from MIDI devices. When switching from Advanced to Basic mode, you will need to change all your advanced hotkeys to basic hotkeys.

Change the behavior of hotkeys

You can set how XSplit Broadcaster listens to your assigned hotkeys.

Global: Assigned hotkeys can be triggered anywhere, such as in a game or another application.

Application: Assigned hotkeys only trigger when XSplit Broadcaster is in focus.

Disabled: All assigned hotkeys will not be triggered.

Advanced Settings overview

Video Processing Mode
Let’s you choose to prioritize using CPU or GPU resources for video processing. Changing this option is only available on Windows 8.1 or newer.

Prefer CPU for video processing
Recommended for lessening the load on the GPU while playing PC games on the same hardware.

Prefer GPU for video processing
Allows XSplit to take advantage of your GPU's functions for accelerated video decoding and other GPU processing.

Use legacy video processing options
The default video processing mode for XSplit Broadcaster balances the load on your CPU and GPU. Allows the following options below:

Use Media Foundation Engine for video playback:
Enable Microsoft MF engine for the playback of supported video files (MP4, WMV, AVI, and ASF). Using the MF engine will enable DXVA2 hardware acceleration and should use lesser CPU resources.

Use hardware acceleration for USB2 capture devices:
Enable the use of DXVA2 hardware acceleration to decode video from USB 2.0 capture devices such as AverMedia Live Gamer Portable, Hauppauge HD-PVR, Elgato Game Capture HD and HD60.

This feature is only available on XSplit Broadcaster V4.1 or earlier.

Enable WASAPI audio render
Forces DirectShow to use WASAPI audio renderer instead of DirectSound. May resolve audio cracking and stuttering.

Allow outputs to specify their own network adapter
Allows you to choose which active network adapter to use for each of your streaming outputs.

Browser Source Special Optimization
Allows Webpage sources to render animations in both 30 and 60 fps. Note that this may not work perfectly on some systems and may end up just showing a black or empty Website source.

Click here for more information about this feature.

Enable script security for sources and extensions
Enables Permissions window which will require you to confirm sources and extensions to execute scripts.

GPU Adapter
Forces XSplit Broadcaster to run on the selected graphics adapter (GPU).

GPU Anti Aliasing
Allows the use of GPU resources to smooth edges of sources. This option is experimental and may be changed or removed in future releases.

For MSAA, we recommend using maximum settings of Sample Count 4 and Quality 0 to avoid excessive GPU usage. MLAA is a post-process shader and may require less resources, but may also have a visually different effect.

Enable developer mode
Allows XSplit to perform additional logging, enable plugin debugging and allow unsigned DLLs to be loaded by plugins.

Enable enhanced logging
Allows XSplit to perform comprehensive logging used for searching errors and troubleshooting. Click here for more information about this feature.
